On March 14^th, 12 top Chinese technology companies/disruptors from various fields gathered in the world’s trendiest, coolest, most cutting-edge science and technology film festival – South By Southwest (SXSW) 2018 in Texas, U.S. On SXSW’s top innovation stage , Makeblock, as a leading global STEAM education solutions provider, was invited to the Tech Being Forum along with a few other China’s innovative technology companies such as VIPKID, Lizhi FM, ofo, Tencent, Kuaishou and XGIMI, to share and discuss future technologies, industry insights, product design and their achievements in various fields.

At this exciting event, the companies/disruptors showcased their latest innovations and shared their future goals. Patrick Boyle, from Makeblock’s U.S. subsidiary gave a speech at the theme of “Empowering Our Next Generation in the Age of AI”, and highlighted that “In the era of AI, education should empower the children to become creators and leaders instead of being just consumers”. During the speech, Patrick demonstrated Makeblock’s practices and insights in STEAM education to the audience, providing takeaways of creating popular gadgets and exploring the possibilities of integrating education and technology deeply in the era of AI.
