On September 8-9th, the first MakeX Challenge was held in Thailand, at the Mahidol University in Bangkok, organized by Imagineering Education and Bond L. Cooperation Co., Ltd. with support from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. With 52 teams of primary school students from all over Thailand in attendance, competing in the entry-level MakeX Starter Challenge.
20 qualified teams will attend the MakeX Thailand 2018 on 6-7 October at Science Faculty, Mahidol University after which 2 teams will win and represent Thailand to join 2018 MakeX Championship in China. The government of Thailand is very supportive of MakeX and STEAM education, it has built industry 4.0 model schools for students to learn STEAM-education subjects using mBot for their class. The government believes that teenagers should be prepared anytime for the future development of science technology.
Ms. Sumittra Nimkornchai, executive director of Imagineering Education Co.,Ltd. said,“I saw this competition platform as a driving opportunity for Thai education to further the students their creativity, self-development, teamwork spirit and showcase their innovative ideas and inventions based on STEAM education provided.”
After MakeX Thailand, we will also have international rounds of robotics competition host in Singapore, Estonia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Dubai, Hongkong and Mainland China one after another. 350 teams of global teenagers will gather in China at the end of the year 2018 battling for the championship at the MakeX Global Final. Trophies and a series of prizes totaling 500,000 RMB will be awarded to the winners of the year.
